Nevanac eye drops (nepafenac Ophthalmic suspension) 0.1 % is a sterile, topical, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) prodrug for ophthalmic use. Each ml of Nevanac eye drops contains 1 mg of nepafenac. Nevanac eye drops (nepafenac Ophthalmic suspension) is designated chemically as 2-amino-3-benzoylbenzeneacetamide with an empirical formula of C^H^N^.

Clinical Studies: In two double-masked, randomized clinical trials in which patients were dosed with Nevanac eye drops three-times-daily beginning one day prior to cataract surgery, continued on the day of surgery and for the first two weeks of the postoperative period, Nevanac eye drops demonstrated clinical efficacy, compared to its vehicle in treating postoperative inflammation .Patients treated with Nevanac eye drops were less likely to have ocular pain and measurable signs of inflammation than those treated with other eye drops.

For ocular pain in both studies a significantly higher percentage of patients (approximately 80%) in the nepafenac group reported no visual pain on the day subsequent cataract surgery (Day 1) in comparison to those in the vehicle group (approximately 50%). Results from clinical studies indicated that NEVANAC® has no significant effect upon intraocular pressure; though, transformation in intraocular pressure may take place subsequent cataract surgery.

INDICATIONS AND USAGE Nevanac eye drops (nepafenac ophthalmic suspension) is indicated for the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with cataract surgery

PRECAUTIONS: General: Topical nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) including NEVANAC®, may slow or delay healing. These events may be vision threatening-Patients with evidence of corneal epithelial breakdown should straight away stop use of topical NSAIDs including Nevanac eye drops (nepafenac Ophthalmic suspension) and should be closely monitored for corneal health. Post marketing understanding with topical NSAIDs recommends that people with complex visual surgeries, corneal denervation, corneal epithelial defects, diabetes mellitus, ocular surface diseases( dry eye syndrome),rheumatoid arthritis inside a small time frame may be at a high risk for corneal events which may be vision threatening.

• NEVANAC Eye Drops should not be administered while wearing contact lenses.

• Do not touch the nozzle tip to any surface, as this may contaminate the solution.

• Keep bottle securely blocked when not in use.

• Keep NEVANAC Eye Drops away from the reach of children.

• Use the suspension within one month of opening the container.

• Carcinogenesis, Mutagenesis, Impairment of Fertility: Nepafenac has not been assess edin long-standing carcinogenicity studies. Amplified chromosomal aberrations were noticed in Chinese hamster ovary cells depiction in vitro to NEVANAC Eye Drops.

• Nepafenac diet not impairs fertility when administered orally to male and female rats at 3 mg/kg (approximately 90 and 380 times the plasma contact to the parent drug, nepafenac, and the lively metabolite, amfenac, correspondingly, at the suggested human topical ophthalmic dose).
